Siii Projects has worked to produce a series of LiDAR laser 3D scan’s of the Melbourne School of Design building, Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, University of Melbourne. This award winning building designed by John Wardle Architects in collaboration with Boston based architecture firm NADAA, is driven by the idea that the building itself becomes built pedagogy and a broader studio environment.

“The scan data allows design students to engage with and understand the building that they are learning in everyday.”

The MSD Facade Scan Series aims to contribute to the already rich knowledge and learning resources at the Melbourne School of Design, allowing students to engage with and understand the building that they are learning in everyday. The facade series investigates the permeable relationship between inside and outside in the building, and represents the strong spatial connections between the internal spaces of the school and the rest of the university.
